Georgetown Hoyas face Marquette at the Bradley Center with hopes of "redemption"

Jason Clark glides up and away for the swat against Marquette guard Dominic James in last seasons game at the Verizon Center (D.C.)

The Hoyas (11-1 2-0 BE)  will go into the Bradley Center with hopes of redeeming themselves with two "tough" losses against Marquette (9-5 0-2 BE) last season.  In both of those losses last season the Hoyas played tough but came up short each time, decisions at "critical moments" in those games hurt the Hoyas, but this was due to youth and experience.  The Hoyas have grown and learned you can only go one way, UP!  The "hard work and determination" from the end of  last season play a big factor in the Hoyas' maturation and dedication from last season's end to the present.  This season is a "totally" a different season.  The Hoyas have been playing "consistent team basketball" and will continue to do so.  Although Marquette sits second from the bottom of the Big East standings, it's still early in the Big East and anything can happen in the blink of an eye in the Big Easy?  No, BIG EAST!   Marquette's last two conference games against have both been heartbreakers with a 63-62 loss to West Virginia on the road and a loss at home to Villanova 74-72.  I think Marquette will be well prepared and ready as both teams have something to play for. I do know some things, "as long as the Hoyas stay focused, determined, smart and tough, they will continue to glide with a "sense of urgency" in every aspect of this very important Big East affair against Marquette."  Let's Go Hoyas!  Hoyanation, lemme hear you say HOYA SAXA!  HOYA SAXA!  HOYA SAXA!  2010 HOYAS GET IT IN!  LET'S GOOOOOO!!!  SIX "O'S" IN GO = CHAVIS!  THE DREAM CONTINUES!

WE READY!

The Hoya Redemption Dream Season continues in the Midwest as Hoyas glide to a 67-50 win againt the DePaul Bluedemons

KEEP ON MOVING!
LET'S GO HOYAS!

Hoyanation, the Hoyas glide to the Midwest and and "keep on moving" in a steady win today against the DePaul Blue Demons 67-50.  Great team play once again played a tremedous role in the win.  Coach Thompson stated, “as a group this is how we have to do things all year.”   Austin Freeman, 17 pts., was the Papajohn's Player of the Game and Top Performer in other publications.

"We just tried to outplay them, outwork them,” Freeman said. “It was just something our whole team was focused on.”  The Hoyas had four other players in double digits.  Any different night any player can step up, tonight it was Austin Freeman with his teammates contributing as a "unit".  The "team play" is"phenomenal." Although the Hoyas were winning by a good margin they never let up steam, they "kept on moving" and will "keep on moving".

Here's a quote from DePaul's Coach Wainwright, “what is most disappointing is the way they scored at the end,” Wainwright said.

This is the Big East. To get a road win is as good as it gets,” said Thompson, who was unhappy with his team’s defense in the first half. “I think we will get better and that’s part of it,” he added.

GLIDEHOYAS

VS.

Let's sing altogether now Hoyanation, Let's Go Hoyas, Let's Go Hoyas, Let's Go Hoyas, I can hear these chants right now.  Hoya Saxa! Hoya Saxa! Hoya Saxa!

HOYA SAXA!

The Hoyas (10-1) have gone to Midwest to take care of business against the DePaul Blue Demons (7-6) in their first of a two game Big East road trip.  Will Walker, a senior, leads the charge for the Blue Demons at 16.1 points a game and leads his team in steals at 1.5 a game.  I've been wanting to say this for so long, so I'm going to say it, it's kind of funny but true, "the Hoyas are leading their team in scoring", get it, I got it : )  The Hoyas are in rhythm and will continue the "Hoya redemption dream season".  As a matter of fact the "consistent sense of urgency" and "consistent tough, smart basketball" is what the Hoyas do.  It's so funny when I hear some folks talk about so called "cup cake teams", I guess they don't see it the way we do, but I'm glad early part of the Hoya season was set up by design because it has paid dividends on a consistent basis with the Hoyas.  This is a gonna be a season to remember, you can bank on that.  Hardwork!  The Hoyas know that there is "faith in adversity".  Let's Go!  Hoya Saxa!  Beat the Blue Demons!

WE ARE GEORGETOWN!

Former Oak Hill Academy Star/Oklahoma Sooners Keith "Big Tiny" Gallon breaks the glass on the last game of the decade, New Year's Eve!

Oklahomer Sooner Keith "Big Tiny" Gallon moving Gonzaga player out of the way.  I'm just saying!

NEW YEAR'S EVE JAM, LET THE CELEBRATION BEGIN

I'm glad no one got hurt, the opposing players quick reaction to get out of the way from the falling debris.  I just to have sayyyyyyyyyy, I'm just saying!  Having a chance to meet Big Tiny last season when Oak Hill Academy played at Georgetown Preps mini Verizon in Bethedsa, Maryland, Big Tiny had a very funny personality, so I had to get this laugh for him, although Big Tiny was modest about it and the Sooners were losing at that time, I know he had a chuckle about especially it being New Years Eve : )   Everytime I watch it just laugh, laugh, laugh...I'm glad none of the players or refs got hurt, but I'm just saying!  Some photos I took with my cell phone last season at ESPNRise National High School Tournament

Hoyas continue the Hoya Redemption Dream Season and glide to first Big East win on New Years Eve 66-59!

THE BIG PAYBACK!
JAMES BROWN
GREAT JOB HOYAS!

Hoyanation, "the bittersweet taste is gone"!  Yesssss!  I remembered the feeling as if I were playing.  I had to and put it in my game for the next meeting no matter how long the wait was to play the RedStorm again!  I've been waiting, waiting ever since the last time we played.  The time came tonight on New Years Eve for the continuation of the "dream season".  The game was a battle, a dunkfest. Julian "JuJu" Vaughn's vicious dunk in Redstorm traffic, I yelled out, "watch ya headddd", wow Julian, lol, I like, I likeee.  Greg Monroe's transitional two handed monster dunk was sensational, and Austin Freeman's "thunderous dunk" to rattle the "tin", in transition to crack the Redstorms strikesI  The Hoyas focused, "determined",  tough and gritty came out with the redemption feeling and won 66-59.  The smart play at the point guard position has been played  with a "sense ofr urgency" and has payed dividends for the Hoyas   Chris Wright's understanding of pure point guard play had bloosomed at the right time, Big East play.  Here's a quote from the Hoya junior point guard Chris Wright, ""This is a key point. This is a key next four minutes," Wright told them."  All the "smart", "recognizable", things add up to the big picture.  Just like they say, "the point guard is an extension of the coach on the floor"!  I truly beliee in that statement.  Wow, what a game!  I could hear Mr. Rich Chvotkin right now, Hoyas win, Hoyas win, Hoyas win, lol.  By the way, it was a pleasure to meet the voice of the Hoyas today.   Great job fellas, "the unity", "the bond", "the communication" "I got your back, you got my back" mentality will glide into greater heights Hoyanation and friends.

#15 Junior Austin defends pass from St. John's player 12.31.09

#4 Chris Wright glides in transition for two points in New Year's Eve's win over the Redstorm 12.31.09

Coach somebody's gotta win, and somebody's gotta lose, no call, lol

#1 Freshman Hollis Thompson's hustle play makes St. John's player miss layup 12.31.09

The huslte plays against St. John's, of Hoya big man #10 Sophomore Hoya Greg Monroe are become very contagious amongst teammates 12.31.09

#15 Austin Freeman glides in for one of his two "thunderous dunks" against the St. John's Redmen 12.31.09
