Hoyas continue the "Hoya redemption dream season" at the Jimmy Valvano Cancer Classic in win over the Butler Bulldogs 72-65

"NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER GIVE UP!
JIMMY V!

#10 Greg Monroe's dunk against Butler Bulldogs 12.8.09

Greg Monroe had 24 points and 15 reboundsboth career highs to lead  the Hoyas to a 72-65 victory over  Butler on at the Jimmy V Cancer Classic at Madison Square Garden, New York.  Monroe, recorded his third double-double of the season as the Hoyas used their bigs size advantage to control the paint at both ends of the court.  Austin Freeman played with a lot of energy and was 4 of 5 from 3-point range and added 18 points for the Hoyas.

Hoyanation and friends the summer of 2009 was the start of the "redemption dream season".  I was at the James "Jabbo" Kenner Memorial Summer League and I heard that the Hoyas were going to play Butler this season.  I was excited about this, and I couldn't wait.  I've been hearing so much trash talking and all kinds of stuf, but I knew the Hoyas were gonna play hard, play smart, and have fun in this game against the Butler Bulldogs  They did exactly that, they won 72-65 in a key non-conference matchup.  Yes, there were lots of turnovers on behalf of the Hoyas, but the Hoyas overcame this with good rebounding and great defense.  The Hoyas's defensive execution play a key role in this game.  Great "communication" is always the key to success especially when you are a unit.

Jimmy V Classic at The World's Most Famous Arena Madison Square Garden

VS.

Hoyanation, this is "one" of many  moments we've been waiting for this Hoya "redemption dream season".  Hoyas glide to New York to participate in the famed Jimmy V Classic for Cancer.  The Hoyas #14 (6-0) will face the Butler #20 (6-2) tomorrow at the Jimmy V Classic in the World's Most Famous Arena.  The Butler Bulldogs losses have come at the hands of the Tubby Smith's Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Clemson Tigers by one point margin.  The Hoyas come into this game undefeated, focused, and determined knowing that every game and every moment is played with a "sense or urgency".  The Hoyas will have to get out on the perimeter as quickly as they can with "great communcation and response". The Hoyas wins have been convincing with great "team play" in letting Hoyanation fans and friends know that the Hoyas are ready to continue the "dream journey" against the Butler Bulldogs.  When I heard about this Butler game I was hyped and I still am hyped as we speak, now there's only one thing to do, "get hyper".  Hoyanation, let's go into the Madison Square Garden, "The World's Most Famous Arena and make some noise.  Hoyas, we are with you!  Let's Goooooo!  Hoya Saxa!  Let's Go Hoyas!  All these chants, we will all sing together.  WE ARE GEORGETOWN!!!

Hands Up Hoyas!

Hoyanation watching the Hoyas is great awesome thing to do. Watching them defend at their highest level can be a joy, but just think, if you were their opponent's guard and you were dribbling the ball up the court and you saw not only tall Hoya players, but you saw how intimidating the Hoyas can look with their hands and arms up waving and extended with the focused monsterous eyes, lol. It's easier to get to the shooters on the perimeter with hands and arms extended. Shall we get the bricks out! (Dunbar's Bob Wade in high school basketball documentary Poet Pride, the team practice with bricks, it gave the advantage late in games for finger, wrist and arm strength, this is waht made the Baltimore's Dunbar Poets The Greatest High School Team Ever). You have to excuse me, I love defense. Hoyanation, I think I love defense more than anything in basketball because I know "defense" wins championships. This can look like a nightmare for the opponents on a nightly basis. The Hoyas are already a fundamental team, this adds some fundamentals to their weaponry. Hoyanation, I'm sure we will see more of this especially against Butler, oh yeahhhhhh, Hoya Saxa baby. Let's Go Hoyas, let's show Butler who has the real bulldog! Jack, we love you!

Good defense Free!

Hoyas glide in win against local American U Eagles 73-46

GLIDEHOYAS

Georgetown 73 AU 46, good job Hoyas!  Hoyanation, I was so ready for this game, I can't wait for Butler, it's on now, it's on.  Hey, Jack, we're gonna show them the real bulldog, and on to the road to the "redemption dream season".  A snowy day here in the district (D.C.).  From one warm day to a snowy day.  That didn't matter, I love the snow anyways.  While growing up half of my childhood in Bridgeport, Connecticut one can imagaine all that snow during the wnter months liiving in Connecticut, there was lots of snow, and I love it, know that's what I call fun.  I'm sitting here listening to Glideee over and over as I write and watching Louisville get pounded by Charlotte.  When I pause and think of what I saw tonight in the in the Hoyas was totally amazing.  I saw everything, I saw the fire, then cohesive, the unitry, the heart, the toughness, the sense of urgency, you got my back, I got your back, all the way down to the last player. Every Hoya played today.  The Hoyas are tough nosed you can bank on that.  Of course one would have to give AU a lot of credit for trying, but the Hoyas took off in glide mode on the hardwood.

#4 Chris Wright glides in for the bucket 12/4/09

The guards Jason Clak and Chris Wright were amazing and blazing. Austin Freeman doing his thing, Julian Vaughn, vicious, Henry Sims, mean, more to come from both.  Monroe, tough hustler of the pack.  Hollis Thompson is the man of the "bomb squad unit".  You gotta love the pieces to this puzzle, they all fit well, I must say.  Hoyanation, great job tonight, students section were in glide mode as chants rang throughout the Verizon Center Let's Go Hoyas, Hoya Saxa, We Are...Georgetown!

#21 Jason Clark glides for a  2 point dunk 12/4/09

Happy Birthday to the "Soul Sonic Forc Hoya" Vee Sanford.  Butler, I didn't want to say it earlier had to stay focused on these previous games, but Butler, we've been waiting all summer for this game, Hoyanation has put it all in perspective and waited patiently, now the time is here and we have accepted that challenge now, now Hoyas Let's Goooooo!!!

A snowy gameday? Hoyas glide into hoop action today

GLIDEHOYAS

VS.

Wow, a snowy game day in the district as Hoyas glide into action this afternnoon 4pm against the American University Eagles two time defending Patriot League Champs with two recent appearances in the NCAA's. The Eagles have lost fives starters and are a ver young team in rebuilding stage this season.   Hoyas (5-0) will go into glide motion while Eagles (1-7) will try to keep pace with the mighty Hoyas.  This will be a tough task for the Eagles while the Hoyas remained focused, and ready.  This will be a game the Hoyas will take fully advantage of in terms of the continuation of team chemistry as a unit.  We give each individual teammate praise because they deserve, but we, Hoyanation and friends we must always remember that their hardwork  tough team play is for each other and Hoya U.  The Hoyas "sense or urgency" will be displayed no matter who the Hoyas play, or who where they go because, "WE ARE GEORGETOWN!!!"

Hoyas glide into action tomorrow against local team American U Eagles

GLIDEHOYAS

VS.

Hoyanation, hearing people say, "AU is 0-7 or 1-7 and they are sorry"  and all that jazz.  Who cares and just think, it means nothing to the Hoyas.  The Hoyas are focused and are very well prepared on the task at hand.  No matter who the Hoyas play or whatever record their opponent may have the Hoyas remained focused on their play and dreams. I call it "the redemption dream season".  They know the "responsibility" and "sense of urgency" lies within themselves as the Hoyas go into action tomorrow afternoon Verizon at 4 pm. against local opponent the American University Eagles.  The Eagles having all their starters to graduation seem to be in rebuilding mode, but remain a worthy opponent for the Hoyas as they get ready for future play.  The Eagles are back-to-back Patriot League Tournament Champions and have made two straight appearances in the NCAA's but were knocked out of the first round.  Great team focus, leadership and play will provide the Hoyas with the right the stuff becasuse, "WE ARE GEORGETOWN!!!"

Let's Go Hoyas, Beat AU!
