HOYANATION, THE WAIT IS OVER, THE HOYAS GLIDE INTO REDEMPTION FORM FOR FIRST GAME OF SEASON!

GLIDE - PLEASURE
WE ARE GEORGETOWN!

HOYANATION IS READY!

HOYA SAXA!

Hoyanation, the start of Hoya redemption "dream season" is here.  The 2009-2010 Geogetown Hoyas glide into the new college basketball 2009-2010 season with confidence, determination, sense of urgency and hope.  Tonight in the Hoyas will play Tulane in an away game for their first game of the season at 9:00 on the campus of the Tulane University.  For the Hoyas, this won't be a tune-up game.  This first game will mean more to the Hoyas and Hoyanation than in the past.  At last season's end the Hoyas had to dig deep inside themselves and do some soul searching to really find "faith in adversity".  I think they've found the faith, now the Hoyas just have put it out there on the hardwood.  I'm cofident they will.  I'm sure Hoyanation will be optimistic, but Hoyanation will be very supportive of the Hoyas in every aspect.  This will be a homecoming for Greg Monroe.  Greg Monroe attended Helen Cox High School in Lousiana where he won a state title and was the 2008 Louisiana High School Player of the Year.

Newspaper quote:

“I’m definitely going to be excited to go home, definitely looking forward to that,” Monroe said. “But you know once the ball’s tossed up, it’s going to be game time. It’s going to be time to focus. It’s going to be a chance to get our first win.”

Norma Dixon Monroe has been cooking up a storm in her Gretna kitchen, preparing for her son's return.  "(My mom's) invited the whole team to come over and eat dinner, so there'll be a big dinner at my house when we get in (today), " Monroe said.

The menu?  "Everything under the sun as far as I've been told, " said sophomore Greg Monroe. "[My mom] definitely is going to make gumbo; she made it for them last year [during a visit to campus] and everybody loved it. She's going to do that again and a bunch of New Orleans-style dishes -- some stuff they normally don't eat if they're not from New Orleans."

"Oh yes, I've got gumbo, red beans and rice, stuffed peppers again, fettucini, " said Norma Monroe. "I've got some turkey necks and corn and potatoes, fried fish...I ordered a king cake for them. I'm giving them a taste of New Orleans."

Over 100 family, friends, and neighbors will be at the game to see Greg on Friday.  Coverage of the game will be shown here, I think you have to order the game.  Copy and paste:

Hoyanation, Jason Clark will spread his wings and glide into the season in top form

Jason Clark stretched out gliding in for the the dunk

Hoyanation, it's 4 days before the Hoyas first game of the 2009-2010 season.  I think Hoyanation has been waiting for this moment from last season's last game.  I know I have been waiting patiently hyped up here and there, and finally only 4 more days, a dream come true no matter what the deal is.  I'm ready to go out there right now and play. (just kidding).  Jason Clark an all purpose guard, will glide into the season in top form with blazing speed and quickness and mad heart.  Jason has added more strength which has helped him in those areas.  Jason's work ethic, dedication, focus, and sense or urgency will pay off this season.  His leadership will propel the Hoyas to higher levels.  Could you imagine running the old John Thompson Jr's press with Jason's length.  The ball wouldn't get past wouldn't get past half court because of Jason's graceful wing span which propels him to glide in for the landing for two points.  We'll surely need a lot of that from Jason, and Hoyanation, I'm sure he'll deliver quite well.

Jason had a very successful summer on the hardwood at the James "Jabbo" Kenner Memorial Summer League.  His play was "stellar".   Sitting in my normal seat close to the floor, I was able to see the action up close.  Jason quickly came down the court in transition as he's done all summer and when he crossed half court to the three point line all I saw was a burst of blazing quick speed in for two points.  When I saw that I was like amazing grace. (lol)

I guess you could say it's kinda nice to have a player on this Hoya team that reminds of Sleepy Floyd, David Wingate and Reggie Williams all put into one.  Also, Jason was born on the same day as my son.  A great person, student and player is what makes Jason special.

One other play that really got the Kenner league rocking is when Jason came down again in transition fumbled the ball while going up for the layup, put the ball through his legs while still in mid-air and laid the ball of the glass for two points, now how did he do that?  Length!  Jason Clark is ready!

Hoyanation I'm ready and I know you are too, Let's Glideeee!

GLIDE - PLEASURE
GO HOYAS!

Good morning Hoyanation, we gotta go out there and get it. The countdown until the first game continues, coaches coaching, players working hard, going through the whole scenario time and time again to get it right.  The right combination, the cohesiveness to being one unit, the strong sense of urgency, the focus, striving for excellence and one goal, a national champsionship, the Hoyas are ready for the challenge.

The Hoyas will take the necessary steps second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, and night by night the Hoyas will be in full flight.  I sit back and think about the Hoyas having the momentum in games pressing, always having their hands up and waving them up down on defense as the crowd is chanting, "let's go Hoyas, let's go Hoyas", and then a steal, a pass, then gliding in for two..  Jump on em again, another steal, okay, I'll calm down.  I'm just totally hyped as I can be.  The Hoyas will do well, I have as much confidence in them as I always had because WE ARE GEORGETOWN!

The Summer of Hoya Redemption at Kenner

I was just sitting back thinking about last season and patiently waiting for one of the most prestigous college summer/pro league in the USA.  The famous James "Jabbo" Kenner Memorial Summer League started a month later than usual, and only a month long, 55 games in 19 days.  Hoya fans were eager to see how their Hoyas have improved mentally and physically from a tough rugid season.  I knew the Hoyas would respond with fire in their eyes with the bitter taste still lingering, the Hoyas are seeking redemption.  I think they will find.  The Kenner League provided the Hoyas to make a change within themselves of self-confidence with a sense of urgency while playing and working on their game.  I think it was a "dream" summer for the Hoyas knowing when the season ended another season immediately began.

The Hoyas were split up on different teams and played very well.  The first thing I saw was the "fire" in their eyes, even the freshmen.  They knew they had a lot to prove to themselves and I know in there hearts they want to give it back to Hoyanation, and they will.  This is why the true Hoyanation has to raise up, right now.  The Hoyas will glide, there's no doubt about.  Whatever way you want to celebrate this season practice now, practice singing let's go hoyas, Hoyanation hit me wit da ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ohhhhhhh jumping up and down.  Remember the song Chris Wright came out to at Midnight Madness?  JUMP!  JTIII, thanks for having the fans run on the floor at Midnight Madness, that gave me somethings to think about later on : )  Let's glide with the Hoyas, come on Hoyanation and soon to be Hoyanationers, LOL!  Let's Goooooo!!!  Enjoy the Kenner League photos!

The Road to the Final Four Dream Season has finally started

I can feel the comfort and excitement of college basketball especially for the Hoyas and Hoynation.  The excitement is in the air on the Hilltop.  Hoyanation celebrated the start of college basketball's inside McDonough Gymnasium on the campus of Georgetown University.  The support of the Hoyas was very visible with fans and Hoyas to start a new beginning.  I think the fire and desire are there.  I think the Hoyas worked very hard in the off season mentally, physically and academically and have matured into a close knit team and everyone knowing their roles and leadership abilities. I keep looking at the videos from Friday night's Midnight Madness with the in the lay up and running the break, although it was Midnight Madness they were running the floor, sure would love to see my Hoyas pressing all over that floor like back in the day, I loved it, it was dominant and got the Hoyas loose where they were fluid on offense.  All Hoyas with their hands up all over the floor getting steals back to back and having fun, if you know what I mean.  When you're working hard and you get the prize you have fun with it.  That's what they did, now we can do it again, we can fight, fight, fight, because WE ARE GEORGETOWN!  Hoya dreamers come along for ride with me it's gonna be a good one. Congratulation for unveiling of Dajuan Summers #35 Detroit Pistons jersey.

We pray for our troops and our President and his staff to make the best decisions for our safety and security!

Let's Goooooo!!!
