CBS Sports analyst Jon Rothstein visited the Hilltop on Monday and had these things to say about the Hoyas on Twitter:
Not sure yet if Georgetown can crack the top 4 in the Big East --- but this is an NCAA team. Big jumps ahead for Whittington + Porter.
Interesting about watching Georgetown practice --- not a lot of set plays. Everything is read and react. High IQ players. Cerebral.
Remember the name Bradley Hayes. Gtown freshman is a legit 7-foot. Has a chance to be in the rotation.
Impressed with Mikael Hopkins' versatility. Not just a stationary big. Agile and makes solid reads at the high post. Should start for Gtown.
Georgetown freshman Stephen Domingo just knows how to play. Uses his fakes well, has a solid feel, + can really knock down shots. Only 17.
JT3 now working Jabril Trawick in at some PG. Would expect Hoyas to use several ball handlers throughout the season.
Scary, scary length here at Georgetown. Hoyas will regularly have four players on the floor 6-8 or bigger.
D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera is built like a full back. Incredibly strong for a freshman. Big, burly guard. Will be a factor for Georgetown.
Otto Porter and Greg Whittington are going to have to make 3's. Will likely start for Georgetown at SG + SF. Need to stretch floor.
JT3 said this could be his deepest team at Georgetown. 10 man rotation looks like a legitimate possibility.
Practice about to start up here at Georgetown. Hoyas freshmen class will have to give them major minutes off the bench.
Great lunch at legendary spot -- The Tombs in Gtown w @MexCarey + @CBSSportsNet crew Blake Berson + Kyle Meek. Tomato soup, roasted chicken.
