Gtown called for 61 fouls overcome 26 turnovers in 84-80 win over VCU

If you can handle VCU's full court havoc pressure you should able to handle anyone's pressure in the land of college hoops. The Hoyas turned the ball too many times in the first half (14).but the score at half was only a one point lead for the the Rams despite the turnover madness from the Hoyas. This win was a great team win. Overcoming 26 turnovers is not an easy task, but the Hoyas kept rolling through thick and thin.

Halftime Stats

The Payback!

Sophomore D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera  showed his heart and toughness tallying 26 pts., 3 rebs. 1 asst. 4 stls., 5 to's today against one of the best defense in the college basketball world. The Hoyas will probably not face a better defense team for the rest of the season, but the Hoyas will not be fooled knowing there are other great defensive teams out there in the college basketball world as well.

Senior point Markel Starks filling his leadership role was 10-10 from the free throw line. (Free throws win championships). 23 pts., 5 rebs., 5 assists, 2 stls., & 7 to's was his stat line. Markel showed great poised down the stretch and played smart. As we all know playing against and watching VCU  play that the game is not over until the clock says 0:00. Under 4 minutues is normally when they're at their best.

The Hoyas overcame havoc and became relentless. I thought this was a big indication and set the tone of what the Hoyas can do. They played Georgetown basketball minus the turnovers. VCU did managed to shoot 47 free throws. The Hoyas are now 3-2. This again, was great team effort without a doubt. The Hoyas 13 bench points were key also. The big fella junior Joshua Smith "Freightrain" tallied 17 pts. and was 9-10 from the free throw line. I love the powerful dunk in the first half. Nice feed from the senior Starks.

Very unselfish team play by the old blue and gray. This is what good TEAMS do. The communication was there. The point communication was there. This game was REDEMPTION for me, and I know Hoyanation as well. It was like a big weight lifted off of my shoulders. Oh, what a feeling. Shout out to the Hoyas fans there in Puerto Rico, great see and hearing our fans battle VCU's, oh what a grudge match it was. I think the Hoyas need to work on keep the ball away from the sides because most teams are taught to trap in those areas. Passing drills wouldn't hurt either lol lots of them ;). Hoyas out rebound VCU 38-29

 Good defense!
 Hands up!

The big fella and guard defense!

 Coaches coached!
 Good job coach!
