HOYANATION, THE WAIT IS OVER, THE HOYAS GLIDE INTO REDEMPTION FORM FOR FIRST GAME OF SEASON!

GLIDE - PLEASURE
WE ARE GEORGETOWN!

HOYANATION IS READY!

HOYA SAXA!

Hoyanation, the start of Hoya redemption "dream season" is here.  The 2009-2010 Geogetown Hoyas glide into the new college basketball 2009-2010 season with confidence, determination, sense of urgency and hope.  Tonight in the Hoyas will play Tulane in an away game for their first game of the season at 9:00 on the campus of the Tulane University.  For the Hoyas, this won't be a tune-up game.  This first game will mean more to the Hoyas and Hoyanation than in the past.  At last season's end the Hoyas had to dig deep inside themselves and do some soul searching to really find "faith in adversity".  I think they've found the faith, now the Hoyas just have put it out there on the hardwood.  I'm cofident they will.  I'm sure Hoyanation will be optimistic, but Hoyanation will be very supportive of the Hoyas in every aspect.  This will be a homecoming for Greg Monroe.  Greg Monroe attended Helen Cox High School in Lousiana where he won a state title and was the 2008 Louisiana High School Player of the Year.

Newspaper quote:

“I’m definitely going to be excited to go home, definitely looking forward to that,” Monroe said. “But you know once the ball’s tossed up, it’s going to be game time. It’s going to be time to focus. It’s going to be a chance to get our first win.”

Norma Dixon Monroe has been cooking up a storm in her Gretna kitchen, preparing for her son's return.  "(My mom's) invited the whole team to come over and eat dinner, so there'll be a big dinner at my house when we get in (today), " Monroe said.

The menu?  "Everything under the sun as far as I've been told, " said sophomore Greg Monroe. "[My mom] definitely is going to make gumbo; she made it for them last year [during a visit to campus] and everybody loved it. She's going to do that again and a bunch of New Orleans-style dishes -- some stuff they normally don't eat if they're not from New Orleans."

"Oh yes, I've got gumbo, red beans and rice, stuffed peppers again, fettucini, " said Norma Monroe. "I've got some turkey necks and corn and potatoes, fried fish...I ordered a king cake for them. I'm giving them a taste of New Orleans."

Over 100 family, friends, and neighbors will be at the game to see Greg on Friday.  Coverage of the game will be shown here, I think you have to order the game.  Copy and paste:
