As the dayz go by until November 12, 2010! I'm Ready!

I'M READY
KANO

As the world turns and as the days past I'm now patiently waiting until the Hoyas first game on November 12, 2010 against Old Dominion University Monarchs.  It seems I have some I still a little bit of Midnight Madness left in me and I don't want to let go of it.  I guess you could say I'm like this every year during this time.  One thing I will never let go of is the "madness".  The madness is what keeps me going all the way to "March Madness".

At Midnight Madness, the Hoyas was the first Division 1 school to get a committment from 6'10" PF Brandon Bolden Class of 2012.  Here is Brandon Bolden sporting the Midnight Madness Tee that was given to everyone in attendace.

"We went in the back into Coach Thompson's office while it was going on," Bolden said. "It hadn't kicked off yet. He was definitely happy (when I committed). He was waiting on when I was going to do it."

"I always knew that's where I wanted to go. It was just a matter of the time of when I was going to do it," Bolden said. "My mom gave me the green light to do it when I felt it was right."

What's interesting about Bolden is that while he's been seen on the circuit by scouts, it wasn't until this fall that his stock began to heat up. A native of South Carolina, he transferred to Charlottesville (Va.) Miller School this fall and word began leaking out of his improvement.  (Recruiting ESPN Analyst Dave Telep)

On top of all that here's my day from yesterday, lol.

I bought a gogo cd Junkyard Band

The band was formed in 1980 by children, ranging in age from 8 to 13, living in the Barry Farm government housing project in Washington, D.C.. They were inspired to play after witnessing the performances of local go-go bands in their neighborhood.

Not having resources to purchase traditional instruments, the children instead scoured their neighborhood in search of objects that could emulate the sound of real instruments: hubcaps, plastic buckets, crates, cans, and discarded pots and pans.

After a few informal performances in Barry Farm, the group was dubbed the "Junk Yard Band" by locals. This is perhaps a reference to the animated television program, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, whose band "The Junk Yard Gang" also performed on improvised instruments.

  1. Gah! Can't wait for season to start. Media day tomorrow and open practice on saturday will tide me over this week, but I don't know what I'm going to do with myself between Oct 23rd and Nov. 12th! It can't get here soon enough!

  2. HSB, I hear you man, I was like that before Midnight Madness and I was saying the same thing, but now I'm sooooo pumped up I probably be doing so much to get ready for that very very important date. An ODU player named Marquel Delancey went to school over here I live in (Mount Vernon High School), the same school my son attended and played for and earlier I hit him up on Facebook and told him to do his best. He said, "Everything is lovely and I'm just getting ready 4 November 12", me, "LOL, I knew you were going to say that", him, "lol, I know you're all about the Hoyas", me, "yup, but I keep it all in perspective bro because after the game we still rep MV! Great people encourage each other to do their best no matter if they are on opposite playing fields..We both go hard and may the better team win. And oh, congrats on CAA Champs and nice ring man...
